Why is a company called \u201cthe firm\u201d? The word comes from Latin I will sign<\/em>, which means to make something firm or provide stability. In commercial law, a company\u2019s signature is the name by which it identifies itself and assumes liability: what is signed is binding. That is why, ultimately, an organization is only as valuable as its signature.<\/p>\n

Your \u201cI Am, Inc.\u201d\u2014the personal company you founded the day you were born\u2014works the same way. Compare two statements about the same event: \u201cI had to change jobs\u201d and \u201cI decided to change jobs.\u201d The path and the tools are the same; the only difference is \u201cLIFE\u201d: the Will and Intention to Decide to Act. The difference doesn\u2019t lie in the circumstances, but in who signs off on the action. That is agency: the ability to put your signature on your own existence. Those who don\u2019t sign off don\u2019t take the lead; things simply happen to them.<\/p>\n

This complete surrender to taking ownership of your reality connects us to the poem \u201cDefeat\u201d by Kahlil Gibran (The Madman<\/em>, 1918). The author describes his defeat not as a loss, but as a dazzling declaration of his own sovereignty, in which he stands tall in the sun, driven by a single will. Likewise, in the Gospel, Jesus holds us to this standard of radical consistency by teaching us that our word must be firm and transparent: let our \u201cyes\u201d be yes, and our \u201cno\u201d be no (Matthew 5:37).<\/p>\n

And here lies the hidden wisdom: \u201cGod said, \u201dLet there be\u2026\u201c and it was so\u201d (Genesis 1). That is why this personal organization is called \u201cMi Vida S.A.S.\u201d: because your existence is your greatest enterprise. And a life, just like a company, is worth exactly what the word that says \u201cyes\u201d\u2014or says \u201cno\u201d\u2014is worth.<\/p>\n
